Tensile Membrane Landscape Canopy Beside a Woodland Path in Xinxiang

Qingsong's landscape canopy at a scenic site in Xinxiang stands beside a path surrounded by trees. The white membrane spans support points at different heights, forming an undulating surface close to a curved walkway and fencing. White columns and external tie rods line the membrane perimeter, with a platform beneath the roof adjoining the path.

The white membrane rises from low points to high points, with curved edges creating a pronounced change in level. Columns, external tie rods and connections to the membrane edges are clearly visible. The curved roof lines contrast with the surrounding tree trunks.

The structure stands close to a bend in the path, trees and fencing, with column bases in the adjacent soil. The membrane can be seen between the fence and the trees. The sheltered platform adjoins the outer walkway, and construction tools and materials remain on site.

Support positions and activity space

During column installation, the support points were set around the site; the membrane then formed an undulating roof between them. For similar wooded sites, tree positions, path edges, activity areas and column bases can be marked on one site plan, coordinating the membrane's high and low points with the places people will use.

The heights and curves of a woodland tensile canopy should be planned together with the trees, paths and areas where people will stop.
