At charging-carport handover, assess the covering structure and electrical system separately, then confirm their interfaces. A finished appearance does not demonstrate satisfactory tensioning, connections, drainage or charging equipment. Follow the project's design, contract and applicable requirements.
Match records to the supplied work
Check materials and components, design changes, fabrication and installation records, concealed works and relevant test documents against the drawings. Record substitutions and connection changes; documentation for a similar product is not proof of the actual supply.
Inspect connections, membranes and drainage
Check supports, fixings, membrane damage, tensioning records, edges and drainage. Investigate pronounced wrinkles, abnormal deformation and ponding through the agreed process rather than treating verbal agreement as a substitute for inspection.
Itemise electrical and operational handover separately
Relevant specialists should check equipment, circuits, protection and functions, then confirm operation, fault shutdown and maintenance responsibilities. Provide warranty contacts and inspection plans so operators know whom to contact when issues arise.
