Charging-canopy refurbishment should assess more than ageing fabric. Distinguish surface contamination, membrane damage, loose connections, steel corrosion and changed use before selecting cleaning, local repairs, membrane replacement or structural alteration.
Survey conditions and retrieve original records
Collect drawings, membrane information, warranty and maintenance records, and current operating details. Record leaks, ponding, corrosion and deformation. Recheck structures and foundations if coverage, equipment or materials will change rather than assuming the old frame can remain.
Arrange shutdowns and specialist handovers
Coordinate vehicles, charging equipment and electrical circuits through the relevant managers and specialists. Plan structural conditions after membrane removal, component repairs, coatings and new installation in sequence with temporary measures. Do not improvise overhead work zones while business continues below.
Inspect after membrane replacement
Verify materials, connections, form and drainage, and retain repair or alteration records. Inspect and hand over electrical work separately. Keep photographs after reopening to help identify recurring leaks, slackness or corrosion.
