Documentation to check when procuring architectural membranes

Once the design has identified a membrane direction, procurement must ensure the selected product is actually supplied. Manufacturer, model, specification, batch and test evidence should correspond; sample colour or a material abbreviation alone is insufficient.

Match test documents to the actual supply

Check the report's product, test subjects and conditions against design requirements and the proposed model. Brochures, individual sample reports and batch certificates serve different purposes. Company management-system certification is not proof of each material property.

Include fabrication and site conditions in the schedule

Define roll widths, colour and batch requirements, joining methods, packaging, transport and storage. Confirm samples and acceptance methods before ordering printed finishes, special surfaces or specified colour consistency.

Read warranty scope and conditions

Distinguish material and project warranties, recording maintenance conditions, remedies and contacts. A product warranty period is not a maintenance-free life for the whole structure. Longer promotional claims do not replace clear aftercare terms.
