Pool canopy gallery: covering the water and poolside spaces
These archive photographs show a white membrane over a swimming pool, elevated supports and the surrounding poolside space. Curved edges help illustrate the relationship between water coverage and poolside shelter. The images do not establish the membrane specification, water management or operating status. Decide whether to shade the water or the poolside
Pool shade may cover the water, rest areas or both. Compare shadows against operating hours and where people gather. Check that supports leave room for poolside supervision, cleaning and emergency access.
Materials and maintenance in a humid environment
Account for moisture, cleaning chemicals and metal protection. Leave access to maintain the membrane, connections and drainage. Define where roof rainwater goes; do not assume it can discharge into the pool.
