Membrane structures in landscape design
A membrane landscape structure is more than an appearance choice. It can organise entrances, resting places and visitor routes; first explain the role it should play on the site.

Include its spatial role in the brief
Use a simple functional description to explain the location, supported by information about surrounding buildings, planting and activities. This is a better basis for detailed design than a list of style keywords alone.
- What role will the structure play on the site?
- Which surrounding elements need particular coordination?
