Membrane shade in landscape design
Landscape shade structures often provide both a rest area and visual identity. Establish seats, likely occupancy and viewing directions before assessing how the form fits its surroundings.

Evaluate the form from actual resting positions
Complex membrane shapes still need to work at ground level. Define clear relationships between supports, seating and paths, giving resting and through-movement suitable spaces.
- Where is the main seating area beneath the roof?
- Could the form obscure existing landscape views?
